95 install problem: no mouse, keyboard slow

Each time I try to connect to a multiplayer server on the internet it tells me that there is an update and starts to download it (after a few mouse clicks etc). I have 263 DLL's, including the 2 put there by the failed install. (WPSTKMOU.DLL at 28.6K that is the main operating dll and WPSTKMRI.DLL at 1.58k which I think is the setup object dll) Note: STKMOU=stick mouse.
